Mr. Murphy is a founding principal of MMHP Investment Advisors. He retired from his active role at MMHP in 2023.

Prior to MMHP, Mr. Murphy was the founding member of Murphy Investment Management Company (the predecessor to MMHP), which was incorporated in 1992. Earlier in his career, Mr. Murphy worked as a portfolio manager, and research analyst for Capital Management Associates in New York City. Before that, he was the lead manager of a sizable equity portfolio for the State of Florida Pension Fund in Tallahassee, Florida.

He now serves MMHP occasionally in an independent consulting role.
