Fred E. Murphy, IV, CFA

Mr. Murphy is a principal and a member of the firm’s investment committee. Prior to MMHP, Mr. Murphy was the founding member of Murphy Investment Management Company (the predecessor to MMHP), which was incorporated in 1992. Earlier in his career, Mr. Murphy worked as a portfolio manager, and research analyst for Capital Management Associates in New York City. Before that, he was the lead manager of a sizable equity portfolio for the State of Florida Pension Fund in Tallahassee, Florida. He has been in the investment business since 1986.

Since January 2007, Mr. Murphy has been a member of the Board of Directors with the Thomas County Federal Savings and Loan Association.

Mr. Murphy earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1989 and he received a B.A. in Finance from Auburn University.

David J. Middleton

Mr. Middleton is a principal and a member of the firm’s investment committee. Prior to MMHP, he was a principal with Murphy Investment Management Company (the predecessor to MMHP) for 15 years. He has also worked for Merrill Lynch & Company as a financial advisor, covering private client relationships throughout the southeastern states. He has held, or holds, various securities and insurance licenses. He has been in the investment business since 1988.

Mr. Middleton is an active volunteer and board member for several non-profit organizations in the Thomasville/Tallahassee area.

Mr. Middleton received a B.A. in Economics from Vanderbilt University. He is also a member of the CFA Institute and the Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals.

J. Mark Parker

Mr. Parker is a principal and a member of the firm’s investment committee. Prior to MMHP, Mr. Parker was the principal of Parkway Wealth Management LLC (PWM), an investment advisor registered with the SEC. Before PWM, he was the Chief Investment Officer at TNB Financial Services, the trust division of Thomasville National Bank. For 15 years prior to TNB, Mr. Parker was Chief Investment Officer and CEO at Joseph Parker and Company, Inc., an investment advisory firm with managed assets of $240 million. The company merged with TNB in 2002. He has been in the investment business since 1987.

Mr. Parker is an active community volunteer in his hometown of Thomasville. He is a board member and current Treasurer of the Thomasville YMCA, as well as a past board member and past President of Thomasville Landmarks.

Mr. Parker graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia with a B.B.A. in finance.

C. Wayne Edwards, CFP

Mr. Edwards joined MMHP in 2008 as a senior investment advisor and head of financial planning. Prior to joining MMHP, he was the president and founder of Professional Financial Planning, a registered investment advisory firm founded in 1985. PFP provided comprehensive personal financial planning in the areas of cash management, tax planning, risk management, estate planning, investments, education planning, retirement planning, and business planning. He has earned the certified financial planner (CFP) designation and holds various other securities and insurance licenses. He has been in the investment business since 1985.

Mr. Edwards is a prior member of the National Board of Directors of the Financial Planning Association, former president of the Tallahassee Rotary Club and former Rotary District Governor, chairman of the investment committee of the Community Foundation of North Florida, and a former board member of the Tallahassee Memorial Health Care Foundation. He was also a former columnist for the Tallahassee Democrat.

Mr. Edwards  received a BS and an MBA in Finance from Florida State University.

Tracie M. Brinson

Mrs. Brinson is one of the firm’s Client Services managers, as well as, having a role in back office operations and administration. She has been with MMHP since 2016. Tracie handles office accounting, client administration, and client communications. She works with the firm’s portfolio managers, and directly with clients, providing comprehensive account service and administration. Prior to MMHP, Tracie was Corporate Office Manager for a diversified holding company, as well as, having spent twenty years with an engineering firm.

Mrs. Brinson received her A. A. in accounting from Southern Regional Technical College.

Carol M. Suber

Ms. Suber joined MMHP in 2011 as the firm’s Client Services Manager. She works closely with the firm’s portfolio managers, as well as with clients on various administrative and operational issues. Her duties include front line client communication and reporting, as well as, managing MMHP’s internal operational processes. Prior to MMHP, Ms. Suber was in the insurance business as an underwriter, agent, and marketing specialist. She is a Certified Insurance Counselor and an Accredited Advisor in Insurance. Most recently she worked for Flowers Industries in the payroll department.

Ms. Suber attended Sante Fe Community College in Florida.
